I work for one of the largest hosting companies in the world, and often have to deal with issues where a node or peer somewhere in between us and our customers has an issue, and I'll let all of you reading this in on a little secret: Temporary FIX: Use a VPN service - this seems to have stabilised connections and prevents 90k for now. Also, here's a temporary fix that seems to have worked for people: PLEASE POST IN THE ABOVE LINKED THREAD including as much info as you can on location/ISP so that SE has the info to act. The good news is that it seems SE is aware of this issue and is in contact with some ISPs at least ( ). It appears some ISPs are flagging FFXIV network traffic as P2P and its thus being throttled.

UPDATES: Thanks for all the responses everyone, the info in the comments seems to verify that this issue is related to certain ISPs. (FYI, My ISP is BT Infinity, fibre-optic -UK).Įdit: One more thing, sometimes my connection is absolutely fine via my normal setup, but it usually takes many reconnects to get it that way, its either all or nothing. I'll leave it to more technically minded people to draw any conclusions but I just wanted to share this incase anyone else found the info useful. TL DR - Its possible that the servers are not getting along with certain ISPs. Worked smoothly and all back to normal - stable game-play. I then accessed the internet with my phone via 3G + tethering. I then tried logging in with my PS3 on the same account, and had the same issue.

I tried my PC on all settings (low and max) to see whether it was something to do with that. Testing: I forwarded my ports, rebooted my router, reset it. Eventually I'd just get DC'd with a 90000 error. I can see players around me interacting and getting on with life. It just immobilises me when I try and talk to an NPC, nothing loads up in FATEs, my friend list doesn't appear. The issue: Basically, sometimes when I log in I can see the world going on around me, but can't interact with anything. However, I've noticed I'm still getting this issue even as things are stabilising for others (granted, things are by no means stable yet). So I've been getting some serious lag issues with my game, which up until now I was blaming solely on the servers.
